My name is Andrea Bacchione, i am 34 years old and i live in La Spezia
I think the work of Game Designer is similar to that of soccer player or singer,
everyone dreams of doing it, but only few people have
the perseverance and the talent to really become it.
Until few years ago, i never seriously thought about working
in the videogame industry.
What changed everything for me was Nintendo Wii U
As you might have understood by reading the Portfolio, i, personally, believe
that the invention of Motion Control is the greatest revolution in the world
of videogames from the invention of joypad
Unfortunately, i think the great potential of Motion Control has never been realy expressed, but,
at least many interesting titles came to light on Nintendo consoles
The management of the Second Screen on Nintendo Wii U,
however, was, in my opinion, very poor
I thought that with time, the great potential of the Second Screen would finally bloom,
but - as we know - the project was not very successful,
and soon replaced by Nintendo Switch
I was incredulous.
Wii U Gamepad has so many features and gimmicks,
and can even be combined with Motion Controls,
how was possible that no production or project
could exalt so many incredible potentials ?
I realized that to get to know ideas that could take advantage of so many features,
i would have to think about them by myself
I tried to analyze individually each peculiarity
of those extraordinary technologies, and to understand them in depth.
I felt like i was in a huge unexplored plain,
whenever i thought of a concept, two others came to mind.
The ways in which exploit Second Screen and Motion Control
seemed endless to me, and i collected so many schemes
(those in the Portfolio are just a part of the gameplay project i wrote)
At the beginning it was a hobby,
i imagined conceptual uses of those i start calling Alternative Devices
and i extended them creating mythologies that were proper to those concepts
Time passed and a feeling started to born inside me,
a feeling that i believe is common to all artists:
the desire to see my ideas come true
Andrastudio was born in the intent to realize this desire
I believe that artists always look for two things:
a way to realize their projects, and someone to share their ideas with
Right now, while i write these words, i do not know if i really will able to carry out
Andrastudio, but if you've come to read up here,
i know i've got at least one of those two things
If you've come to read up here:
Thank You
